Out-of-warranty service

Repairs are considered out of warranty when:

  • Your iPad is over one year old
  • Your iPad has an issue that's not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorized modifications

We might be able to fix or replace your iPad for an out-of-warranty fee. Your replacement iPad will be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

Battery service

If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it's covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare Protection Plan, or consumer law, we'll service it at no additional cost. Our warranty doesn't cover batteries that wear down from normal use.

We might need to test your product to find the cause of your battery issue. If your iPad isn't covered, you have the option to replace it for a fee.

If you have an AppleCare plan for iPad, it offers replacement coverage if your iPad battery holds less than 80 percent of its original capacity.

The cost to service an accidentally damaged screen depends on your iPad model.
